I refuse to forget and I refuse to permit my children to grow up ignorant of the courage, character, and sacrifice that have gone into building and defending this land and nation we call our home.

Today is not merely a day for cook outs, discount sales and fireworks. Today is a day we honor the men who committed treason against the world’s greatest super power in order to secure liberty and independence for themselves and their countrymen.

Don’t thank me or any other veteran on Memorial Day, please. It dishonors the ones whom we’re honoring and remembering (and can’t get off our minds).
