When we think of the Book of Acts, the twelfth chapter is not high on the list of stories recalled. However, it’s one of the most dramatic chapters in the book with more twists and turns than a day time soap opera. Acts 12 is a story of faithfulness and trust in God. It’s a story of hopelessness and pride. In this message, we consider the true peace our faith provides despite our external circumstances.

There is a great misconception in the church today. It’s a misconception leading some churches to be terrified to even touch the subject and others to be so obsessed they miss the forest for the trees. That misconception is the gift of the Holy Spirit. In week two of our “Witnesses, Part Two” series we explore the second chapter of the Book of Acts and thoroughly discuss the biblical purpose for the gift of the Holy Spirit.

We kicked off a new teaching series through the Book of Acts. Following the pattern of our previous series through the Gospel of Luke, this series also features reading every chapter and every verse of Luke’s follow up to his gospel. In this first message, we consider the firm foundation on which Jesus established the church to pursue the Kingdom of God following Jesus’ ascension.
